The Approaching Fullness

Pełnia I — stoneware sphere, diam. 40 cm, studio photograph
Pełnia I · diam. 40 cm · photo Studio Miód Malina · scroll — the light moves from new moon to full The light is recalculated in the browser from the photograph — a simulation, not separate photographs of the phases. At the end of the scene the unaltered photograph returns.

“I was moved by something I read about the first symbolic artefacts. They were spheres from 300,000 years ago. They bear the imprints of human hands, and the suspicion that they were ritual objects. What could they have symbolised? I suspect the moon — its watching has always been bound to the cycle of life on earth. Symbols are still what we need to order chaos and to search for meaning.”

One of a kind

Each sphere exists singly. The forms take weeks; the firing at 1220°C is irreversible — not all of them survive the trial of fire. Works are signed on the base, unnumbered. The series stays open — there are many phases.

The series was shown at the BWA Municipal Gallery in Bydgoszcz (“Nów w Pełni / Beyond the Object”, 23 Apr – 7 Jun 2026, curated by Monika Osinkowska) — viewing room →
