Ceramic artist (b. 1970). A sociologist from the University of Wrocław who chose clay; she learned ceramics
from the craftsmen and artists of the Warsaw Keramos association. She co-founded the c4 studio with
three other ceramicists; today she works alone. Nearly twenty years of practice; since 2012 she has run
her own studio near Warsaw — a pine forest, a dune, two kilns.
She works in stoneware fired at 1220°C: her own clay body (material including clay from her native
Świętokrzyskie Mountains), engobes and oxides, glazes laid down like paint. Main cycles:
The Approaching Fullness (spheres inspired by artefacts 300,000 years old), Rozwarcie
(26 vases on the bond between earth and the moment of birth), and everyday vessels bearing words.
